<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><?xml-stylesheet href="http://www.blogger.com/styles/atom.css" type="text/css"?><feed xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom' xmlns:openSearch='http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearchrss/1.0/' xmlns:georss='http://www.georss.org/georss' xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0'><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-391987407996227221</id><updated>2012-02-16T17:37:17.942+08:00</updated><title type='text'>Who the bloody hell are we?</title><subtitle type='html'>A poem inspired by what it means to be Australian.</subtitle><link rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#feed' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://whothebloodyhellarewe.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/391987407996227221/posts/default?max-results=100'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://whothebloodyhellarewe.blogspot.com/'/><link rel='hub' href='http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/'/><author><name>Corporate Verse</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03853113481883147444</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><generator version='7.00' uri='http://www.blogger.com'>Blogger</generator><openSearch:totalResults>1</openSearch:totalResults><openSearch:startIndex>1</openSearch:startIndex><openSearch:itemsPerPage>100</openSearch:itemsPerPage><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-391987407996227221.post-3713160784776130</id><published>2007-03-14T12:49:00.000+08:00</published><updated>2007-03-18T20:06:17.928+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;Who the bloody hell are we?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's been called the Great Southern Land&lt;br /&gt;The land down under too&lt;br /&gt;A country under Commonwealth command&lt;br /&gt;Represented by an Emu and Kangaroo&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;From the tip up north near Darwin&lt;br /&gt;In the Northern Territory&lt;br /&gt;Right down to Tassie's Launceston&lt;br /&gt;It's the great Australian story&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And as countries go I guess&lt;br /&gt;We're fairly young when compared&lt;br /&gt;For just over 100 birthdays rest&lt;br /&gt;Since federation was declared&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But tell that to our Aboriginal folk&lt;br /&gt;For on this land they've sat&lt;br /&gt;100 odd years to them is a joke&lt;br /&gt;They've been here a lot bloody longer than that&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And on the subject of all of the folk&lt;br /&gt;Who make up the populous here&lt;br /&gt;There's a lot of mixed blood in Sheila and bloke&lt;br /&gt;Who get together for a barbie and beer&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There's British and Asians&lt;br /&gt;There's Indians and Europeans&lt;br /&gt;There are Middle East nations&lt;br /&gt;Americans, Russians and Koreans&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And that is the essence of this great place&lt;br /&gt;Australia has a multicultural population&lt;br /&gt;We've people representing almost every race&lt;br /&gt;Who make up the face of our nation&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And on the whole we're a peaceful bunch&lt;br /&gt;Anything else would be un-Australian&lt;br /&gt;A day at the beach or a Melbourne Cup lunch&lt;br /&gt;To not practice mateship would be somewhat alien&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We cherish our sport and that's for sure&lt;br /&gt;And we love to give anything a go&lt;br /&gt;And taking it easy is at our core&lt;br /&gt;In fact, it's almost a national motto&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But that's not to say we don't work hard&lt;br /&gt;An honest day's work earns us our grub&lt;br /&gt;We're diggers willing to go the extra yard&lt;br /&gt;We get the job done before hitting the pub&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And our mateship is not just contained to our shores&lt;br /&gt;We back up our allies all over the world&lt;br /&gt;We've our fair share of soldiers fighting in wars&lt;br /&gt;You'll always find an Aussie flag unfurled&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So Aussies at home and Aussies abroad&lt;br /&gt;Stand up and give yourselves a hand&lt;br /&gt;For your contribution we can applaud&lt;br /&gt;You're an important part of the Great Southern Land&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;script type="text/javascript"&gt;&lt;!--
